staff technical training
The Computer Learning Center (CLC) staff, in conjunction with the church Information Technology (IT) staff, provide church staff and volunteer technical training on a wide range of topics. The team goal is to improve the staff, both paid and volunteer members, with the ability to efficiently and accurately perform their assigned duties. To this end the team offers one-on-one and classroom training, normally during the day, but also evenings and weekends when needed to meet the needs of the staff and volunteers. Volunteer members of the CLC perform the training using existing church facilities and equipment. Classes are scheduled on an ad hoc basis, with many impromptu sessions.

- Dealing with SPAM and Malware

Church Helpmate 2006

Provide the financial co-secretaries and tellers with basic and advanced training on Helpmate,
a church management software package. Helpmate supports attendance
tracking, mailings, contribution and pledge tracking and reporting, and
general church administration. |
| Intuit's QuickBooks Pro 2006 |
Provide support to the Co-Treasurers in their Financial Management and
Reporting tasks, including Payroll. Occasionally, the team brings
in a QuickBooks consultant to provide specialized training. |
| Presentation Support |
Provide basic training in using Microsoft PowerPoint and setting
up the CLC laptop and projector system. The team can also assist
in connecting other multimedia devices to the projector, such as a VCR
or DVD player. |
| Windows SharePoint Services |
Provide support in setting up and managing the church's internal portal. This
portal contains various digital libraries, discussion groups, web workplaces,
a Help Desk application, and an announcement area. |
| Digital Photos |
Provide basic training in graphics packages like Adobe's Photoshop Elements. The team further provides training on taking and downloading digital photographs and managing digital albums.

Provide basic and advanced training in using Macromedia's Dreamweaver and Contribute Content Management software application. |
